**Chicago, Illinois**: It is truly an honor to be featured, for the 8th time, as one of the top 501 MSPs in the world. After over 20 years in business, EMPIST has proceeded to make a name for itself as a Managed Service Provider. After ranking #188 on the Channel Futures™ MSP 501 list in 2019, we are proud that even during these challenging times, we’ve jumped the list a total of 72 places, coming in at #116.
This year the evaluation process for ranking the 2020 Channel Futures™ MSP 501 list was [remodeled](https://www.channelfutures.com/msp-501/2020-msp-501-list-revealed-welcome-to-a-whole-new-era) to better reflect the best overall competitors. In the past, the rankings were weighed by annual revenue alone, and while this is an important piece of the puzzle, it only showcases who the biggest partners are. While EMPIST may not be the largest MSP out there, we have great margins, diversified revenue streams, and high revenue per employee.
The new methodology used this year to determine the top 501 MSPs was based on four components.
**They include the following: **
- **Annual revenue stream: 50% **
- **Profit margin: 25% **
- **Recurring annual revenue: 15% **
- **Revenue per employee: 10% **
