If you were feeling popular this year with scam callers, you were not alone. It turns out that the volume of spam calls jumped 18% globally this year. In fact, [Truecaller](https://truecaller.blog/2019/12/03/truecaller-insights-top-20-countries-affected-by-spam-calls-sms-in-2019/) estimated that 43 million Americans were scammed into losing an approximated $10.5 billion this year. There have been several efforts put into place to eliminate spam callers, but it’s become an ever-growing problem. The clock is ticking as the [Windows 7 end of life](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/windows/end-of-windows-7-support) date approaches on January 14th, 2020. Microsoft has been encouraging all its users to upgrade to Windows 10 for the past few years now.
Here Are the Facts
Any operating system with an end of life status has an increased risk of spreading malware because it is no longer receiving security updates and patches from developers. The women’s antiperspirant brand Secret is launching a female empowered campaign this holiday season. The brand’s Instagram account will become a directory for women-owned businesses throughout December. Holiday retail sales are estimated to hit $730 billion this year, and women are responsible for running 40% of these businesses. Sadly, out of the 40% of these businesses, women are only taking in a mere 5% of holiday revenue.
