Whether you are searching for ways to get more traffic to your blog or to promote products for your business, there is no denying the fact that utilizing social media is one of the best ways to achieve your traffic goals. There are several social media options out there, including Twitter, which is a must for businesses of all types.
It provides a place for you to share your news with your already loyal customers as well as attract new customers. Twitter is one of the easiest social media outlets to use, and it’s a great place to grow your followers.
However, one of the most common concerns many people have is how to get followers on Twitter, so here are a few easy ways on how to increase your followers.
#### Be Active
One of the most important things you can do when it comes to knowing how to grow your following on Twitter is to stay active. Consistency is imperative, so you’ll have to put some time and effort into your Twitter networking. The easiest way to start is by tweeting and retweeting daily. Even if you only have a few minutes, start each day by following new people and don’t forget to reach out to others in your niche, it’s important to retweet and interact with them.
#### Make It a Habit to Retweet
Even after you have built up your followers, you must continue to retweet at least one or two new people a day. You can also ask for retweets, but it’s best to do this sparingly. Asking your followers to retweet can increase your retweets, as well as followers, but doing it on every post can get annoying, so choose your retweet requests wisely.
Be sure to follow those that retweet or favorite your tweets, especially when they take the time to comment on something you’ve written. Engage as often as possible; the more you reach out to others, the more people will reciprocate.
#### Use Hashtags
Hashtags can be an extremely powerful tool, and they should be used as a part of your strategy on how to get followers on twitter. However, it’s important to know that they are only beneficial when they are properly used. When you’re searching for the right traffic, whether it is as customers or readers of your blog, it’s important to figure out what they are tweeting, and hashtags allow you to do that.
Finding out what people hashtag allows you to join in the conversation, which means you are learning what they are interested in or why they retweeted it. The quicker you find relevant hashtags that meet your purpose, the quicker you’ll grow a targeted following.
Variety is important when it comes to sharing on Twitter. Tweeting the same content over and over will not get you followers, in fact, you might lose followers. People want to see variety, so share new content daily; your content as well as the content of others. Sharing other people’s content is a great way to interact with others. Also, remember to add a twitter button to your blog and on your blog posts.
